Wufengella is a worm-like creature from the Cambrian Period that has features associated with three groups of living animals. It is a half-inch long, covered in bristles, and is about 518 million years old. The animal is a camenellan tommotiid, which means it had a series of bristles along its body and is evolutionarily connected to brachiopods, bryozoans and phoronids. The fossil’s exceptional preservation means details of its soft tissues are preserved alongside its hard skeleton.Read Long Article
