Boy, a 9-year-old boy, and an adult male were hunting in the hay flats area when they came across the brown bear. The bear attacked the boy before the adult shot and killed it before calling for help. The child was flown to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center for medical help. Harborview said the patient is “satisfactory” as of early Thursday morning. The boy suffered serious injuries while the adult male had minor injuries.
