A building collapsed Tuesday morning on Chicago’s West Side after a nearby explosion. At least eight people were transported to nearby hospitals, fire officials said. A search for people who may still be inside the building continued. The cause of the explosion was not immediately known. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot tweeted her thoughts were with the injured and the firefighters working at the scene. The collapse happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday at West Washington Boulevard and North Central Avenue in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago.Read Long Article
