Hurricane Fiona is now a Category 3 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds nearing 125 mph. The storm is expected to reach the waters of the maritime province of Nova Scotia by Friday evening. The Canadian Hurricane Centre warns of “very heavy rainfall and severe winds” in Atlantic Canada and eastern Quebec. It also warns of the possibility of downed trees and power outages, and construction sites could also be “particularly vulnerable” to the storm.
