Second case of West Nile virus confirmed in Allegheny County

The man is in his 60s and lives in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood. He experienced mild symptoms, was never hospitalized and has since recovered. The Pennsylvania Department of Health has reported eight other cases of West Nile virus this year to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Earlier this month, the virus was found in a female in her 70s who was briefly hospitalized before being released to recover at home. The Health Department has set up additional mosquito traps in the Brighton Heights area.
